Went to RE today and am a bit confused
So I went to the RE today, got a sonogram done and some blood work. She gave me a prescription to start Clomid tomorrow. I have another appt. next Sat to see the progress.
I'm a little confused as to whats going on. What will they be looking for next Sat? Are they going to tell me when to .
She also said to sign up for an injectable class. Does that mean she thinks Clomid will not work for me?
ahh I'm so confused.

Re: Went to RE today and am a bit confused
You usually take clomid CD3-5 (or 5-9) then go in for a sono 7 days from when you begin. They want to check if you have any mature follies.
If they are mature (around 20mm), they might have you take a trigger shot. Maybe that's why she suggested the class. I didn't take a class and did the trigger shot twice, just fine though.
Sometimes, if the follies arent mature enough at that point, they will have you come in the next day to check them on the sono again.
I've also gone in and had 18mm follies and since they usually mature around 1-2mm per day, they just had me do the trigger the next day.
Not everyone takes the trigger shot though (Ovidrel). Some Dr's will have you use OPKs to check if you are about to O- then you BD. The trigger just guarantees O with in the next 40 hrs.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask your RE. Definitely don't leave the office without knowing why you are taking a new drug or have to fill a prescription of any sort.
Glad you can get the answers you need here though.

well i don't ovulate at all, so I know she prescribed it to me to help bring on ovulatation. I'm just confused about everything else.
I didn't get to ask her questions b/c they took blood work and I thought I was going back to talk to her but my appt was over and didnt get to see her again.

Re: Went to RE today and am a bit confused
I'm doing all of this for the first time this cycle too. I took Clomid (50mg) from CD 4 - 8. We BD on CD 8 and 11 just in case! Then on CD12 had an u/s and had one follicle at 20.5mm. On CD13 I did the trigger shot which ensures that the egg will be released. Then on CD14 I had IUI. And we'll BD CD15 (today) and CD16 per Dr's orders.

They will tell you if your eggs are growing etc...I really dont think you need an injectable class, its super easy!
