Went to see DR. Cohen again-UPDATED ON BOTTOM!!!!
...and tomorrow I am going for a page and a half of bloodwork. He again suggested that I finish up my family and get either my uterine lining destroyed or have everything taken out. Man has a way with words! He doesn't think I have any clotting issues because he feels that they would have found then when I had surgery a few years ago. He is pushing for me to go on Lupron. I don't think I am going to do it. I have had this for years and I would rather have the annoyance of this than hot flashes, sleep disorders and depression.
He said either CLomid to get pregnant, the Lupron, the lining or the big one... or deal with the bleeding. If they find a clotting thing though, he will start working with that issue.
So I am back where I started...

I am sorry to beat a dead horse, but when you get your lab results back you should definately take them with you for a second opinion.

I am not sure how a doctor can assume anything, like ruling out immune issues. What type of blood work is he doing now ?
Find a new doctor, ....
He also has said some contradicting things...he said you were near menopause , yet he wants to put you on clomid ??? That is a red flag in my mind.

He said I should consider getting pregnant (with his help) so he can take care of the issue permanently. I have decided to call my old dr and tell her I am still bleeding so she can run her own tests. They are the ones who have always told me about the low hormone levels. I am not going to mention going to the RE. DO you ever feel that a dr has no idea who you are when you get there and he has to keep asking questions and reviewing the file just to remember where he left off? that's how we felt.

This sounds like my sister...it took her YEARS to find out what was wrong. Let me get the names of her blood disorders. Maybe that will help you. She saw an RE at Stonybrook...and after years she finally know what is wrong.

Here is what she has,plus endo. She used to bleed for MONTHS at a time. BCPs made it actually worse but they didn't know it so they kept putting her on them. She was on Lupron 2x for 6 months each but was told that she is now done with Lupron as the risks are too high after that many months. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!

Laurie, this is exactly what I was telling you I thought you should explore. Thanks Michele !!!!!!
Thrombosis...is a big cause of abnormal uterine bleeding...and I can not tell you how little this is tested. It is also is said to be related to implantation failure and miscarriage. There are so few doctors out there who have an understanding or an interest in this. It's very upsetting to me.
You may be better off seeing a hematologist or a rheumatologist than this doctor you are currently seeing.

I will let you know what happens tomorrow. He said he will have some of the results bad. My next step will definately be another dr. I am off the pill now so I want to get to one asap.

Bloodwork is normal...  Where do I go now?
It has actually stopped since last Thursday, it usually stops for about 10 days and starts again.
Question: Do you think it could just be stress related?

My Factor VIII Activity is out of range.
You may think I am crazy, but I am THRILLED! FINALLY!!!! SOmewhere to start!
And I am finding a new OB/GYN. THey ahve been telling me how low my hormones are for years and it is a totally different thing they should have looked in to. So happy!
