went to the pediatrician today and ...
asked if i could stop nursing and put her on milk at 11 months. they said no way that i have to wait till 1 year. i was hopeing to stop since im losing my supply and dont want to lug pump to florida for the holidays.
what age in months did you start giving ds or dd milk or transitioning them over to full milk. tia

I put transitioned both of my kids after their first birthday (13 months & they were fully transitioned). Would you consider formula at this point?

About 11 months we started the transition very slowly. She was still mostly on formula at that point but with a little milk mixed in.

10 mos. The ped told me to replace one formula bottle with whole milk each day. In 4 days he was fully transitioned to whole milk and hasn't had any issues.

I started weening at 10.5 month by 11.5 he was totally on milk...
I say if you wanna start weaning go right ahead!

It's amazing how every pediatrician is different. Some are okay with it and others are dead set against it. I've heard that it's okay to start after 12 months, but honestly, why start formula for a month and then make the transition? That just makes zero sense to me. I say go for it, but that's just me.

I didn't even wean Hayley off formula, I kinda went cold turkey because she didn't like the mixture of formula and milk. She was 11 months old.

I am transitioning now. Ryan is 10 months. I am putting small amounts of milk in his cup and he is having no problems. I think when he is 11 months I will put him fully on it.

My doctor told me at 11 months to put Julia on whole milk because she got an ear infection and didn't want to BF anymore, which helped me out a lot! I would ween her now if you want. JMO

Jacob was fully off formula and on whole milk at 9 months. Thats what my ped said, so thats what i did. No issues, no problems and honestly it was a nice chunk of change back into my wallet just as we bought our house.
