I would think 18 mos and up (depending on how small the animals really are). I think a 2 year old would probably enjoy that toy.

Re: What age is this best for?

My BIL got this for Julia for Christmas, and I feel she is to old for it, she plays with things a year a head of her, she didn't even want to open it when she got it--lol I'm returning mine.

ETA: Julia is 2 1/2.

yeah I think it's a little young for her. My DD is 2 and I have already put it away with her "younger" toys

I would say it's good for up to 4-5 years old. I worked with preschool age children for many years and the farm was always a big hit with all of them. It's great for pretend play.

I have to agree, but it would depend on your child and their level of imagination. My DD got a few of these play things, and at 19 months, she doesn't really "play" with them. But my DS, who is 3-1/2, loves to set them all up in a village and he plays with them.

I don't think she is too old for it at all.

She's not too old for it, IMO. Katherine got it last Christmas, when she was 15 mos. She didn't know what to do with it at that point--kids can't really pretend then, KWIM? Now, she's close to 2.5 and she definitely shows more interest. She started "playacting" shortly after 2 as I recall.

Re: What age is this best for?

honestly, i think it depends on the parents... hannah has the farm and the house, and loves playing along with me... i take some of the people, and say "ring the doorbell to come into my house" while shes on one side and im on the other, and she does....she and most 18 month olds understand everything, so saying stuff to her like "come thru the window" or "im going to open the door now"...she understands and knows that we are playing....lol- on a side note, there is a potty that flushes in the house, and i ask her "do u have to go potty" to whatever she is holding, and she brings it to the upstairs potty in the playhouse, lifts up the seat, and says "sit"...

so no, she isnt too young....just play along with her, and shell get it....or else, yes, it will be boring to her... Chat Icon

2 yrs old is fine IMO. My DS is 19 months and plays with Little People stuff all the time. I have tons of it with havign 2 older kids. When I pull everything out, all 3 kids will play. Even my 5 yr old for a little bit.

Carlie will be 2 Saturday and has it. She loves it. She makes all the animals sounds when she picks up the pieces and loves to "put them to bed"

I'd say 18 mos and up too. My son is almost 3 and still plays with that regularly. He loves imaginative play.

Re: What age is this best for?

DD got this one for Christmas this year. She's 19 months. She loves it, as does her 4.5 yo brother. This is just a tool for imagination. I don't think it's too young for anyone with an imagination. The story-lines just get more involved.
