What age or weight....

Did you put you DC in the bigger car seat? My DD is 7 months and she is very long. I was wondering what the average age was to switch to the bigger car seat.

DS is 11 months and very long but since he has not exceeded the weight limit but has exceeded the height limit he is going to stay in the infant car seat for another month until he is 1 and I turn him around.

Re: What age or weight....

We did at 8 months. DD was 28 inches and 17.5 lbs. She was a lot of weight to carry in the infant car seat and getting her in & out of it was no dream either.
The bigger car seat is so roomy whereas the infant carrier looked like it was closing in on her.

i just wanted to add only because #2 came. We would have kept her in it a little longer.

Re: What age or weight....

As long as DC is over 5 lbs, there's no safety issue about putting them rear-facing in a convertible car seat. Keep them rear-facing as long as possible, though. The infant seats are just more convenient for some people, but if it is more convenient for you to switch, then go ahead.

ETA: around 20lbs for both DC.
