What annuals are you planning on planting this year?
Just looking for ideas. Last year I loved my portulacas but I hate that they only bloom for a short time and then you have to wait for a new bud.
I don't want to do impatiens this year, last year they got so huge they were like bushes. They took over everything.

wave petunias
i just planted them in big planters yesterday
they grow really well in sunlight and they spread like wildfire. which is nice in a big planter on my deck

Petunias here too...Mine spread like crazy last year
Also doing Dahlia's in my front
Begonias do wonderful in sun, mine were huge last year (pictures in album)
Gerber daisies in the backyard between our evergreens....

sorry, impatiens! I love that they do well in a shady area I have.
Otherwise I just go to the nursery and grab whatever pretty flowers I see for my deck planters

us too. last year i did begonias and they didn't spread at all, so i am back to impatiens. i also want to get some hosta for some weird areas that we have.

I just planted more impatiens in my front flower beds and flower pots that are on my deck.
I am in the process of creating a flower bed that goes along each side of my brick walkway and there will be more impatiens in there.

My impatients did the same thing last year in a few places, but I love their colors, so I planted those, along with marigolds (keeps the bunnies away) and a hydranea.

I planed a hydranga, azalea and rhodedendron.
I also planed zinias and salvias in planters and impatiens in planters as well.

Careful with hostas... they take over. you really have to prune these and shape them the way that you want them to grow. Mine got big and bushy. I wound up ripping them all out. (they were here when i moved here)

I ended up putting petunias in the beds. I also put in some catmint, salvia, 2 different kinds of phlox, geum, and a tri-color sedum.
