What are contractors running these days?- Total gut on a house

If you have done construction recently can you please share with me ball park/ range of the entire job?

You can FM if you want, I dont want to know what you paid but curious if anyone knows approx range.

I know it depends on a lot of factors.
We are contemplating buying a house that we can re do completely:

For example a 3BR 2 Bath houses that would need new kitchen (cabinents and granite counters), new baths needed, hardwood floors, sheetrocking, updating electric.

For say a split level or colonial.

Just trying to get an idea. Probably a HARD questions I know esp depending on what you pick for kitchen, baths etc.
We dont have a particular house in mind, just generalizing based on what we are seeing.

but if anyone can help me I appreciate it!!

You have to figure kitchen will run you at least $25k to start

Bathroom each around $10k

Electric - Plumbing - and other damage you may find when opening the walls

Floors - new rock - spackling and sanding

all new hardware and fixtures

I am assuming around $100k maybe less - $100k being the most

If you want to save some money do the demo yourselves. Rent a dumpster and have some fun

DOnt know about a dump truck but you should start calling around to see what a dumpster rental will run you and what size they suggest. Look in the yellow pages

Don't know where you live but I just recently saw a place that rents dumpsters on Sunrise Hgwy in Freeport. I think it said $275 but I don't know the size.

when renting a dumpster - called around for the best price quote -

important questions- how long can you have the dumpster for the fee

is there a weight limit for the size - what is the extra price - this important if you put any concrete in the dumpster it can get very expensive

the 2 most common are 20 yard and 10 yard dumpster- 10 yards are short - and 20 yard are long

some companies also rent 30 yard and 40 yard but they are taller and harder to load
