Eric Carle books - the more simple ones like Very Hungry Caterpillar
Spot books
Anything that is short and reapeats the phraes throughout the story

Emily is almost 13 months and she has been loving all of her books that she can label...
books about
colors
body parts
animals
she goes through them and points to the things she knows....and says the names...
like duck, dog and moo for the cow...
I can imagine that as she gets older she'll even enjoy them more! I think 16 mos old would be great for those books!

chicka chicka boom boom !!
you can even get the DVD out of the library, its such a catchy song, fun book, all kids get into it right away!

I love "How Does a Dinosaur Say Good Night?" mainly because I would read the book & ask them to find the hat. It was surprising how early they could point out an object. Later I would point to the object & say "what is this?" and they would practice saying the word,
