What are good machines for saying bye-bye to my flabby arms?
hey you trim chicas!
i'm starting to get more comfortable on the weight machines at my gym. my problem areas are my belly and my arms. my legs are pretty strong--i can leg press 130 lbs. without flinching--but doing a 20 lb. arm curl makes me want to cry.
any recs on machines to start getting rid of the huge arm flap i got hanging! my gym has just about every machine i think.
TIA!

I love my bow flex. Also DH has a precher curl bench that works wonders.

i usually just use free weights and do a lot of shoulders with a few bicep and tricep excercises thrown in.
you could do the chest press and lat pull down, along with the overhead shoulder press to target the largers muscles in your upper body. then go to the preacher curl machine for bi's. i prefer to do tris with free weights, but they do have machines for this too. you can even use the tower for tris.

push-ups pull-ups dead lifts (i think i use a 45 lb bar)
I've found that i've been toning up quicker lately by doing these exercises rather than weight machines at the gym.

same here... I usually use my 5 lb weights at home. Also, you can do push ups. Saves a lot of money. I walk with my weights on the treadmill too

As a trainer, I would recommend you do chest and shouler machines rather than tricep machines. Reason being - you can push more weight on those, burn more calories and build muscle which will tighten up your arms while buring fat.
If your gym has an assited dip machine that's a great one because again you'll be pushing much more weight than a simple arm extension and it will be more beneficial for you overall.
Oh and an arm curl is for your biceps - front of your arm - not the flappy part :)

And cardio. You want to burn the fat. You are better off doing lighter weights and more reps. Doing heavier weights with less reps will add bulk - which is not what you want right now.
push ups are the best things for your arms ever! My arms have never looked so good. Dips for sure. Pull-ups. shoulder press, bicep curls. Here's a good one: on the bike, pedal at a comfortable speed (say 70 rpms) and do shoulder presses for a minute, bicep curls a minute, rest a minute. Do that three times.
