what are some durable dog toys?

Ollie is a beast and has destroyed almost all of her toys! Her last stuffed animal kicked the bucket yesterday. She loves her toys but she destroys them so easily. Are there any toys your dog has had for a while and has yet to destroy? TIA

ITA! My dog especially loves Air Kong toys, the toys that are made out of tennis balls. She loves to destroy most toys, but these last quite a while!

Another Kong fan here! Also I just got Katie a really tough rubber squeeky from Petco the other day, not sure of the brand.

This is what we got her. The squeaker isn't as annoying as some other ones:

Maddy is the same way -- I even bought this (what seemed to be) durable stuffed bear that I thought would be hard for her to get through b/c it consisted of some type of very thick eco-friendly hemp-ish material....and it lasted the longest of all her stuffed toys, but still got destroyed after three weeks.

Now, I giver her Kongs or Orka products:

or, these dental ropes that hold up very well and keep her busy:

Re: what are some durable dog toys?

Teemu is a toy destroying machine. So it is really a matter of prolonging how long it takes for him to destroy a toy. He has a bunch of Kongs, but he doesn't like them. He is more into the soft toys. The only soft toy I can get him at this point is the Tuffie Ultimate Ring (Tuff Scale 10 of 10). They have other good Tuff toys that are lower on the scale, but he discovered how to destroy them pretty fast. Even the Tuff ring - the first one took him over 2 months to destroy, and the last one he destroyed in about 2 weeks. OY! He is funny when he does it cause he knows the 'weak' spot and hones (sp?) in on it. Chat Icon

Barkley destroyed those kong balls! lol.

He gets through everything hehhehehe.

Then so weird. A stuffed animal that he easily can rip he keeps nice and in tact! lol

The solid kong large ball is indestructable!!! We have a pit and she tears through EVERYTHING!!! We got her a kong ball and 2 weeks later its still completely in tact. I was floored honestly. I would go with that. They really are better geared for more aggressive chewers

Cooper has had all of these.

With the first one, he chewed right thru the fabric.
With the second one, he pulled the rope apart.
With the last one, he managed to pull the fabric out of the middle and destroy that, but the plastic part is still holding up.

We have gone thru SO many toys with our crazy dog. And we find, aside from the Kongs, the ones that hold up the longest are the plain old vinyl ones. And he totally prefers to play with those than anything else..

This is also one of Coop's faves. It's solid rubber and very bouncy!

Re: what are some durable dog toys?

We still have these although he's more interested in the bone and ball than the other one that you can put a treat in.

Things that have stood the test of time:

Jolly Ball (outside only toy)
Children's Spalding basketball (outside)
Nylabones
Kong
Yellow hard plastic hollow ball
Tug-a-Jug (just the jug, not the "rope")
Plastic ring for tug of war
Jolly Pets teaser ball

We have tennis balls but only use them for fetch because he rips the fuzz off and eats it if we let him play with it. Ditto for ropes - he rips them apart and swallows the threads which is dangerous so we don't give them to him anymore.

We have a Wubba too, which he loves, but that we keep for special occasions. We never let him munch on it, it would be destroyed.

What has perished at the jaws of our beast:

Stuffed toys
Multiple tuffies toys
Cuz squeaky toys
Plastic bottles
Plastic cans
