What are some of the benefits of air duct cleaning?

Hi this is rubyluise and I am here by confused regarding air duct cleaning. I don't know that the benefits regarding air duct cleaning?

If you ask 10 people, you'll get a dozen opinions. Those who are pro-cleaning say it gets rid of mold, dust, allergens, etc in the duct. It will also make the airway clearer for the air to go through.
The anti-cleaning group says it doesn't decrease the amount of allergens in the air, and just disturbs the stuff that was stable in the ducts, so it makes it worse.

For me, since we don't have any allergies in my family, and the non-cleaning option costs me nothing, I go that route....

We live in FL so we are running the A/C all 12 months of the year and DH had noticed his allergies were acting up. We always change the filters but we figured we would have someone in to see the ducts (free to come take a look and show us picture). The pictures were nasty, we had bought our house as a foreclosure 4 years ago and did a mold test which was fine but never had the ducts cleaned. They showed us before and after pictures and spent nearly the entire day cleaning them, they were sparkling after. HUGE difference and DH felt 100% better after they were cleaned. Most companies will come in and take a look and give you a quote, you can always stop there but it can't hurt to have someone over to check it out.

Thanks to both of you guys, I really appreciated it.I really confused about the air duct cleaning. Now I can say that It does not create any infection or allergies then it is good for health.
