what are some signs that your dc is having a reaction to a solid?
besides vomiting and diarrhea?

Introduce other solids gradually, one at a time, waiting at least three days after each new food. This way you'll get a heads-up if your baby has an allergic reaction to one of them (signs of an allergy may include diarrhea, a bloated tummy, increased gas, or a rash). If there's a family history of allergies, or your baby develops an allergic reaction during this process, start waiting up to a week between new foods.

when i gave brendan peaches his lips and the skin around his mouth got red and puffy.

what about very dry skin on the face or a runny nose? i have been giving hannah applesauce the last 3 days, and i noticed her skin around her eyes were red and she has a runny nose and has been sneezing alot. i know it could be a cold, but i was just curious if it could be an allergic reaction.

it could be, but it also could just be a cold. i forgot to say that eczema is also a sign of an allergy. brendan has that too. stop the applesauce and see what happens, but don't introduce anything new in the meantime. if you're not sure you could try to introduce it again in a few weeks and see what happens.

my guess is that it would be a cold or eczema. Emily has severe allergies but she had facial swelling and hives as a reaction - and IMMEDIATE too - you could see them form right after she swallowed the foods.

Matthew's cheeks have been red. During the day it's fine but by the evening time they turn bright red and he looks like a tomato. DH notices some dryness on them. Could this be from the food being all over his face when eating? The food has always been in his face but ever since he's been on the veggies that's when the red cheeks have started. What's driving me crazy is that it could be anything. It could be too hot for him, it could be the fact that he is teething or it could be the food. I can't pinpoint it exactly since the solids and the teething are both happening at the same time.
I'm going to buy aquafor and try that.

we have been puttin aquafor on her face and it works great. she definitely has sensitive skin from the food getting on her face, but this redness was in a place food doesnt get LOL. definitely try the aquafor.

His cheeks are red in the exact same spot as where the food goes.

It sounds more like a cold to me. As for the dry skin, it's probably just the weather. Does the heat in your home dry out the air? I know ours does and everybody's skin here is suffering.
