What are some things to relieve Edema..
I was in the hospital last night for a bit because I was so swollen, I layed on my left side the entire night and it relieved the swelling quite a bit.. The dr. said I can walk around a bit today because I am so close to the end of this pregnancy and I have been on bedrest for the last 4 1/2 months, are there any other things I can do besides feet up?? TIA

I am SO swollen too. My hands are huge and my right leg. My feet are swollen as well. It actually does hurt me too. As for what to do, I just dont know. I keep my feet up when I can and I try to drink water and watch my salt. I have 23 more days until my c-section so hopefully it will not get worse.
Why did the doc send you to the hospital? Is your blood pressure high? I wish I could be of help because I know how you feel it hurts and feet and hands get hot.

She was nervous it was Pre-eclampsia (sp?), but I have no headaches, not seeing spots in front of my eyes, and my blood pressure is low, and no proteins in my urine so they let me go... I am good during the day then as soon as night hits my hands hurt, my ankles are huge and my legs are so tight I can't walk.. I found that forcing myself to sleep on my left side like the dr said did help a lot, I went to the bathroom quite a few times and when I woke up I was not swollen at all.. We are almost there how exciting!

I'm wondering if a cup of regular coffee would help?? There's a natural diuretic in it. Feel better

That is when mine is bad as well at night it hurts alot. I also have to sleep on my left side. Ihad all the blood work done to because my blood pressure was up. I hope that you feel better soon.

lots of water, it helps to flush you out, feet up, laying on your left side.

I agree with this. Also, are you drinking soda, or eating/drinking anything that maybe has "hidden" sodium in it?
