I hate those..Chat Icon

here are a few tips, though....

-obviously be able to be in a quiet room with no distractions. Do not use speakerphone.

-this may sound weird, but I found that my worst phone interviews were the ones where I was in my pajamas. I have found greater success if I dressed up like I was going to GO on an interview in person -- something about dressing appropriate made me feel like it was more of an interview, KWIM?

-have all appropriate info at hand and ready to be read, like your resume, reference numbers, dates of employment, etc.

-a list of "powerful interview words" may help, too..just to have at hand.

-a big sign hanging in front of you with the words "YOU WILL DO GREAT & ACE THIS INTERVIEW!" (I've done this....for reinforcement...sounds silly, but may work)

good luck!!!!!

Thanks for the advice!!! I especially liked this one! Chat Icon

I am so nervous. I have been "practicing" and I feel like I am going to babble myself into oblivion. Chat Icon

Re: What are your best tips for a phone interview?

I love phone interviews!

I make a bunch of flashcards with the points I want to cover ("I balanced a 1.2M budget"; "I supervised 25 employees"; "In my position we made x, y, z changes that saved x dollars..."). I then incorporate those points into their questions, and when I cover it, I turn the flashcard over. Even if it doesnt seem relevant to the question, you can cover the topic in a round about way, and make sure you touch on everything you want them to know! GL!!!! Are you graduating this year?
