What are your birthday traditions?
I have gone ice skating every year (b-day is Dec 21st) for as long as I can remember.  Very many happy memories.

Same for us growing up!! Whats funny is that ice cream cakes were mostly my parents obsession!! It got so out of control that my dad would manufacture "occasions" so that the lady would write something on the cake!! I am not joking, one time he had the lady write "Happy Birthday sh!thead!!!" The lady looked at him like he had ten heads!!!! 
Oh the memories of my "normal" upbringing!!

mine too
Mine too! And she gets me a Napolean cake or a birthday cake from Waldbaums (they taste unbelieveably good) with rasberry filling.
My birthday celebrations last over a week with the connecting weekends included. I eat whatever I want and do whatever I want!
Oh and DH usually gets me a rasberry tart from Balthezar (sp?)

my mom every years makes me a cake for my birthday it is called a casada its a italian cake. its made from ricottia and pound bread chocolate shavings cherrys sprinkles its soo good. this year i am going to be celebrating it at the campgrounds i cant wait!!!

My mom first wakes me up by singing this song that she used to play for us on this plastic record. My brother and I had one for each of our names....It goes something like this...
"Hey Laurie, it's your birthday. My name is Zoom and I come from the moon to sing you this birthday toon"....and it goes on, but I forget the rest.
She then makes me my favorite cake Funfetti vanilla cake with funfetti vanilla icing and whatever I want for dinner.

I had that record!!!!! I used to LOVE hearing it on my birthday!!!!
Our tradition was that we would always come home from school (if our birthday was on a school day) and there would be ballons on our front door..... My mom to this day hangs them up when we come over for our birthdays.

When we were younger my entire mother's side of the family would call eachother on a birthday and sing the Happy Birthday song. I always looked forward to hearing it from my relatives, and singing it to them. This tradition stopped when we started to get older, it was more embarrassing as a teenager.
