What are your essential extras for your in-home daycare provider (aka Grandma)?

I am going back to work PT starting July, and return FT in September. Since my mom is a teacher, she will help us over the summer probably 2 days a week. I'm trying to figure out what duplicates I need to buy for her house. DS naps a lot in the swing so I will get a travel swing (but if I have that - do I need an extra bouncer?). I also plan to get her the Snap N Go - she already has a snugride base. Should I get bunch of medicines for her house (tylenol, mylicon drops, etc) I don't want to go overboard with the supplies since it's literally 16 days or so really - but I don't want her to be ill-prepared. Ryan will be 14 wks at this point. I can't believe I'm starting to prepare for this already Chat Icon

Re: What are your essential extras for your in-home daycare provider (aka Grandma)?

Tough call. DD spends time at both my mom's and MIL's houses. My mom had stuff b/c she took care of my niece when she was DD's age. MIL "decided" she had to have everything and has gone out and purchased stuff.

At my mom's house:
1. Pack & Play - permanent fixture at mom's house. DD spends almost no time in this.
2. Bouncy seat - borrowed from my sister. DD spends some time in this, but my mom tends to keep her in the Snugride and rock her in that most of the time.
3. Swing - also borrowed from my sister. DD spends a lot of time in this.
4. High chair - permanent fixture at mom's house. DD is not yet sitting in this, but will be very soon.

At MIL's house:
1. Pack & Play - pre-existing at MIL's for the great-grandchildren. DD spends almost no time in this.
2. Bouncy Seat - purchased by MIL. DD spends time in this on and off during the day.
3. Bumbo seat - purchased by SIL (who lives with MIL). DD spends lots of time in this.
4. Play Gym (aka tummy time mat & overhead toybar) - purchased by SIL. DD spends lots of time in this.

At my house:
1. Pack & Play - DD spends almost no time in this. I hope that when she learns to sit up she will play in it.
2. Bouncy seat - spends TONS of time in this.
3. Bumbo Seat - starting to "graduate" from bouncy seat to this
4. Swing - uses this alot as it is upstairs and bouncy seat is downstairs.
5. High Chair - not even out of the box yet.

Hope that helps to give you some insight.

I don't send DS out, but, I do babysit in my home.
The parents bring:

Diapers
Wipes
Bibs
Burp Cloths
PNP
Extra Clothes
Tylenol, Mylicon Drops, Extra Formula and and extra empty bottle just in case.
A small bottle of Dreft Spray in case baby has an accident & goes through the clothes. I spray them and send them home in a plastic bag.
Ointment (Balmex, A & D, etc.)

I would say the swing and a bouncer.

All of the medicines I would pack in the diaper bag. This
way she has it if she needs it but there is no reason to
buy 2 of everything.Chat Icon
