What are your thoughts on slim fast?
To kick start my weight loss?
I lost 40 lbs, and have kept it off for 6 years. But I've gained 5 lbs over the past few months due to the stress of defending my dissertation. I've had so much trouble getting it off. I just need a kick start.
I have a ton of parties and my graduation coming up and I want to look fab. What do you think? Can I exercise while on slim fast? I know nothing about it.

Eh, you just won't feel full with the shakes. That's just my experience with it. I feel like there are other ways to jump start by eating more high fiber and lots and lots of fresh veggies.

I agree-I never felt like I was eating enough. I needed to actually crunch on something.

I feel like the shakes are a lot of calories and you could eat a filling meal for the amount of the shake.
I honestly don't think that diets like that really work--maybe to shed a cple pounds for the weekend or something--but they will come back.
Sorry JMO

I have done it but it doesn't last. Once you stop the shakes the weight comes right back cause you are not used to eating real food

i have a friend who is a registered dietitian. she says that they're good to have around but nothing to put your money of for any real weight loss.
i never did care for the taste

Do they still have the powder? I never liked the taste of the cans. I wonder if you can still get the powder online or something
you are supposed to eat with veggies and fruit. Maybe some celery with it will help with the hunger.

Re: What are your thoughts on slim fast?
Thanks, everyone!
I decided to instead go back on South Beach diet since I had such success losing and keeping it off before. Really I only crept up 5 lbs in the past few months, and I want to lose that and the remaining 20 lbs that I had always planned on losing.

Re: What are your thoughts on slim fast?
I actually love the taste of the slim-fast chocolate royale powder. Plus its super cheap for a big container of it at Sam's club.
The premixed cans aren't really good (the strawberry is the best if your gonna get the cans). your supposed to eat fruits and veggies with it (plus a healthy dinner).
I lost 50lbs on it about 6 years ago ... kept it off for years but after getting married a year ago I gained 10 back I've been trying but can't seem to drop it with just exercise and cutting back.
So, today I am officially starting slim-fast again. The first 2 days are the hardest because it takes your stomach a little bit to adjust to the smaller meals. But, if I can avoid grabbing the girl scout cookies today and tomorrow... I know I'll lose these 10 pounds quick!
