What breast pump would you recommend?
Yep, it's me again with the questions. All I was told is to not get a cheap one. Gee, that helps so much. What do you have and do you like it? What should I be looking for? I will be going back to work 3 days per week after about 2 months.
TIA!!!!!!!!!!

Re: What breast pump would you recommend?
Oh lord, don't get a cheap one! My suggestion is to rent one from a pharmacy or LC. They are hospital grade and work so much better. You just pay by the month. I think I paid 35 a month. Whatever it was, it was so cheap and worthwhile for the time I needed it.
ETA: I just noticed that you haven't even had your baby yet. I would suggest waiting until you have the baby to even think about buying one or renting one. Then you'll have a better idea of what your supply is like and what kind of pump you'll actually need.

Re: What breast pump would you recommend?
i was all about BFing and getting the medela electric (a lot of women swear by this one, which is like $300, but a little cheaper on Ebay).... anyway, i thought, yes, ill wait and see about supply and stuff- then the hospital supplied me with a medela manual, and that actually did the trick! i felt i didnt need the electric, the manual one was just fine. the electic might be faster and all that, and i def wouldve gotten my moneys worth, (DD 10 months and still BFing), but again, im all about spending money smartly- would the electric have been better? probly not- i still got my milk out and stored it in freezer bags- how much better would the electric have been? heres a tip too- johnson and johnson and avent breast pads are the BEST those first few months before your milk really regulates- bc u will be leaking EVERYwhere, and they hold a lot of milk!

Re: What breast pump would you recommend?
I have the Avent Isis IQ and I LOVE it. I pump roughly 12oz every 3 hours. With a manual, I was only getting 7-8oz....

I agree. I BF and pumped for a year. In fact, Jordana's 1st birthday(yesterday) was the last day I fed her. I pumped 3 times a day since she was 2 months old until last month. I went back to work full time when she was 3 months so I took that pump back and forth to work every day for 8 months.
I LOVED this pump. It was easy to use, very portable. I highly recommend it.

Re: What breast pump would you recommend?
I have the Medela backpack which is great for work as no man knew what it was. Now they're figuring it out...
man: are you going home? me: no man: where are you going then? me: don't worry about it, i'll be back in 30 minutes man: really, where you going with the backpack me: it's not a backpack and you don't wanna know man: oooooohhhh. ok *blush*
I also rented a pump for home so I don't have to drag the pump back and forth every day. I looked like a bag lady. The rental also helps me keep my supply up.

Re: What breast pump would you recommend?
I use the Medela in Style Advanced pump. My DD is 6 mos. old now and I have been back to work since she was 3 mos. It is discrete and easy to carry back and forth. I pump 3x a day and get 7-8 oz. within 10 minutes. I originally had thought about a rental but we plan to have at least one more child so I figured why not buy. I would recommend it!

Re: What breast pump would you recommend?
I would def rent one. I bought one and after Andrew was born I had a lot of difficulty and had to stop.
I would wait until after you give birth and rent for a month or so. It is not expensive. And then invest in one. Now I am stuck with a $250 pump
