What can I expect at the first ENT visit for ear infections
Dd will be 10 months Friday and we have an ENT appointment. She has had double ear infections since the end of March and has been on 5 antibiotics. What do they do at the first visit? Do they run tests, or draw blood? I just want to be prepared. I'm afraid tubes will be the only option? Do they do tubes as young as she is?

When you go, Id ask your pediatrician for a list of the dates and treatments for each infection. Make sure it says which side (or if it was a double) that each infection was on. Give this to your ENT. If you can't get it in your hands today, perhaps they can fax that info to your ENT so it is there upon your arrival.
They will look in your DC's ears. they may scope his throat (they did with Jeremy but not with Abby). They may run a hearing test - well they SHOULD run a hearing test and if they don't, request one.
Abby had tubes put in at 10 months. Jeremy just had his put in last Tuesday on his 9 month b-day. I guess I am old hat at this.
If they recommend tubes, please feel free to FM me. I've been through this twice - my kids have crap luck and even worse ears.
