What can I take/do for a dry cough?
I have had an AWFUL dry cough for a days now. I have had the same thing in the past around the same time of year and have taken Robitussin. Obviously, I can't take that now. Any suggestions? Thanks!

You CAN take Robitussin DM. I took it for one night when I had a bad cold. My doctor called and said it was ok to take that.

I have this with some post nasal drip and vertigo this morning. I finally called my OB/GYN this afternoon to find out if I absolutely need it (am going to hold off as long as I can) what I can take. They told me Afrin, Robitussin, Sudafed and Tylenol.

Oh wow .. I thought I couldn't take Robitussin! Do you think I need to get my doc's OK or should I just take it? My cough is horrendous!

I would always ask first - better safe than sorry - but I think your Dr will okay it. You could always ask the nurse in the office.

Just thought I'd update that I spoke with my doc and he said that plain Robitussin is okay, just NOT the DM kind.
