what can you tell me about a colonoscopy
I need to have one but I am petrified of getting it, is it really that bad? Do you see or feel anything?

It's really not bad at all. I was under anesthesia when I had mine and I felt/saw nothing.

Mine (which was about 8 yrs ago) wasn't painful. I was sedated, so i was half out of it - but not 100% asleep. I wasn't really aware of what was going on though. I did have one polyp removed, which I did not feel nor felt any pain afterwards. After the procedure, I was in a post-op area to come completely off the sedation. Then I was sent home. I had to have someone there with me to drive me home. Also, when you're in the post op, and even after you leave, you're gassy and will pass gas

Same here. The prep wasn't fun but after a few trips to the bathroom you get used to it I guess, lol. The drink tasted pretty bad but try sucking on a lemon wedge to help get rid of the flavor. The worst for me was getting the IV. I was dehydrated so it took the anesthesiologist 15 minutes to get it in and I was bruised all over both arms and wrists for weeks.

The prep is annoying. Just bring your iphone, ipad, a book - something to keep you occupied in the bathroom.
I was 100% asleep for the test. Felt nothing. Had some gas when I woke up from the the air they pump in you. It was kind of funny because everyone on the recovery room was farting. I was laughing

yup thatws the funny part...you have curtains but they literally tell u to fart....I feel b ad for the employees lol
