what characteristic/gene/trait do you hope your child does and does NOT inherit?

i am short and i have terrible vision!! please, please, do not get my eye sight!!!
I am also a procrastinator, not good.

but i do hope he or she gets my nose and my teeth. and i hope he or she gets my temperment. i am patient and tend not too go crazy over spilled milk

both dh and i are short and hairy. We hope he takes after his grandpa- tall
and my mom- not hairy.

I hope it doesnt have my color eyes- i would like him to have dh's color eyes.

and i hope it doesnt have dh's nose.

I have very stereotypical pale Irish skin and have been burned too many times - I hope has DH's skin. DH also has great teeth and never needed braces so that would be great!

I would love if had my blue eyes, but wouldn't mind if he is a mini DH and had brown.

I have a very short fuse and am high strung - I hope he has more of DH's laid back personality. I hope he has my smarts and DH's athleticism.

I'm hoping my child isn't cursed with it - Everyone else seems to think this would be fabulous -

Horrible eyesight, and allergies/asthma - Hopefully baby does not get those !!

I do have FAB teeth though

DH is tall and thin and has blue eyes - hopefully baby gets those from him !!

Now that I know he's a boy I'm not as worried about him taking on my excessive body hair trait. But I do hope he has better skin than I do, and DH, but my skin is def. worse.

I hope he has DH's blue eyes (but not his bad eyesight) and that Irish mischievous glint in them. And I hope he's sweet and loving like DH.

I hope he has both our senses of humor, we both laugh alot. I hope he gets my school smarts and DH's street smarts.

I hope and pray that he doesn't suffer from any degree of anxiety and/or depression like almost everyone in DH's immediate family does to some degree. Yet at the same time, I hope he inherits DH's sense of confidence and conviction in himself and his feelings and decisions, it's something I lack and I wish I had, so I hope that gets this.

one of the posts reminded me that i hope our baby has my health!! i am not allergic to anything and i don't sick often..

my husband on the other hand is my sickly child... so i hope our baby takes after me.. hoping breastfeeding will go well!!

looks wise, I hope she doesn't get my brillo hair, although DH doesn't have great great hair, but growing up with my hair was a traumatic experience I hope she gets DH's dimples!!!!

We're both very stubborn and headstrong, so I'm not holding my breath for any miracles...I hope she doesn't inherit my shopping problem and DH's minor OCD, or at least I call it OCD

I have quite a list:

a) Hope she doesn't get my bad back
b) Hope she doesn't have the same infertility problems that I had (have)
c) Wish she weren't going to get my underactive thyroid...but that's pretty much a given--it's automatically passed on from mom to daughter

But DH and I both have MANY good traits that we hope she gets--both of us are musically inclined, I would LOVE to see that be passed on.

The only thing I really hope they don't inherit is DH's allergies. I also have allergies on my side so I don't know how realistic that is, but hopefully if they do they will be on the milder side.

Definitely clubbed feet----I was born with them, my first DD had them and I am hoping that with this baby we will be able to dodge it.

my teeth!! i have fabulous teeth!! not to toot my own horn, but compared to my siblings i'm like how in the world are we even related!? my teeth are ridiculously straight. okay enough gloating...oh! also my skin!

i hope the little duck doesn't inherit my vision (i had lasik!) or my nose bump (makes me sneezy the dwarf!)

saw some other great answers so i had to add!

hope baby doesn't have my temper...my family is known for it's short temper...DH on the other hand is an angel on earth, he can withstand anything! i love him, i hope the baby comes out with his temper!

our health, we're both pretty healthy...

DH's sense of humor, i love that about him too, he can make me laugh whenever! i really hope the baby is like that too!

I hope DD gets my eyes, patience and laid back attitude. Both my humor and FH's. His legs and nose.

I really hope she does not get my back issues (bad scoliosis) or my bad vision.

I hope the baby gets DH's nose and photographic memory.

I hope the baby inherits my Mom & brothers superfast metabolism (it skipped me! )

Hopefully the baby won't inherit club feet from my DHs side or rosacea or ANYTHING from my Dad's side.

I hope he gets DH's beautiful blue eyes and terrific vision (mine is HORRIBLE), his laid back, nothing bothers him attitude, and his book smarts. I hope he DOESN'T get DH's depression or anxiety, his hair or skin, or his high chlosterol.

From me I hope he gets my hair, teeth, skin, fast metabolism, common sense.

We're both relatively healthy although I get sick more frequently than DH.

my DH's musical ability, his dimples, his eye sight (mine is very bad)


I really hope he doesn't struggle with his weight like both DH and I do. I hope he does not get DH's VERY bad food allergies or my eye sight (as mentioned above)

My chin and Dh's teeth.. Boy are we going to be in braces h e l l if they get his teeth. And I hate my chin. Also my hair.. I would love my curls just not as crazy thick!!! But I hope they get dh's eyes.

I hope my sons get my DH's:

height, loving generosity, handsome face, smarts,

I they get my:

Outgoing personality, eyes(green)

We both needed braces so I'm sure our kids will too!

This is such a great question!

Physically, I would love for my DD to get DH"s green eyes and long lashes and my mouth (lips, teeth etc.) Everything else is mix and match goodness.

Personality wise, I DO NOT want my DD to inherit my temper. I can be VERY firery. Her Daddy is much calmer.

If I have a girl, I hope she doesn't get my hips. Also, my vision, which is horrible.

If it is a boy, I hope he is not short like me. I'm only 5'1".

I do hope the baby has my nose, and my DH brains, and eyes.
