What classes/workshops can be used towards fulfilling the 175 hour requirement?
I have a few conferences that I went to last year (got sub coverage) and I was wondering if I could count those hours towards my 175? Is that "double dipping"?
What are some other approved ways to get through the 175 hours?
TIA!

When you say 175 hours, are you referring to fulfilling the requirements for initial certification? I know the newly certified teachers in my school used faculty meetings and superintendent conference days as part of their hours - I don't see why you wouldn't be able to use conferences. I would double check though, just to be safe.

Those 175 hours must be provided through your district and they have to facilitate this. In my district the teachers with inital certification do count the all day conferences towards the 175 hours. I don't see how it would be a problem!! Good Luck!!

Thanks for the input!
I'm going to make an appointment to discuss what can/cannot be used towards the 175 hours.
What a PITA, right?
