what color cabinets would you do............

in your kitchen, if you had oak floors throughout the whole down stairs??
My kitchen is very big and I am going to add an island also.
Any ideas? Thanks

we are having oak floors throughout the first floor and I'm doing white cabinets in kitchen and also with an island..
i think it just flows better

We have oak floors in our kitchen and we went with a cherry like maple cabninet. I love it.

I like the contrast of a dark, rich wood...but I also like the clean, airy feel of pairing it with white cabinets.

I would just stay away from a birch or anything too close a shade to the floor color.

I personally go for white cabinets with oak wood floors, but I def. wouldn't try to match your cabinets to your floor. If you want wood colored cabinets, I would go for a dark wood, like walnut

We have oak floors and cherry cabinets with silver fixtures - LOVE IT! Our counters are dark green granite.

We will have oak floors in our new kitchen, we picked a Cherry cabinet with a light stain on it.
Can't wait for them to come in.

I prefer antique white or toffee colored cabinets with an oak floor.

We are doing oak floors on our first flloor (tiled kitchen) and we are ordering cherry cabinets with stainless steel handles. We are adding an island also.

thanks for all the ideas. I was thinking that the cherry would not go with oak, but seems like alot of peopel say it looks good. So that is good to hear. My 1st thought was the glazed white tea stained or toffee type. I was even thinking washed black since we have alot of windows. It is so hard to decide!

I really think hardwood floors are pretty neutral and that you could pretty much put any color cabinets you would like.
