What color would you paint the exterior of your house if you wanted to sell?
I am thinking a beige/khaki color with black shutters (we have a black roof). What color door? Perhaps a dark red, slate blue or black?? WWYD? We can't do white as we are surrounded by white on our block!

I would say a beige color ith black shutters or a grey color with black shutters. You want to be neutral because if it is too crazy a lot of people will not be interested

I'm not a fan of most grey colors.... 
As you can see, you can't paint the house so new owners will love it, since you have no idea what they will like. Tans are probably the most popular colors. White and light greys are also popular. When you drive around, see what colors other houses are, and don't stray too far from the average, since you are trying to appeal to the widest audience.

tan/beige with black shutters & a black door or navy shutters and a white door. i don't think it matters what u are surrounded by, u have to go by what will be appealing to the most number of people.

beige siding, with either black shutters and black or red door, or beige siding, with hunter green shutters and door.

I read a Real Estate article that said yellow.
We looked at a yellow house when we were house hunting. DH hated the color. I loved it.

I would think neutrals like tan, beige or grey with black or white shutters are the safest but as previous posters said, you'll never be able to please them all.

I really feel it depends on your house. But you can go on the BM website and I think for $10 you can DL a program that allows you to upload a picture of your house, choose the area you want to paint and you can choose different colors to get an idea of what it will look like. It wont be exact because I feel the colors dont show up exactly the same on the computer, but it will give you a better idea. The last thing you want to do is paint it and hate it!!

i am going to respond with not necessarily a color paint but to say that i love color!
my fav combination is the beige and black.
but, i LOVE color. i had a blue house with white trim and red shutters. after we painted i heared people constantly say (driving by with windows down) i LOVE the color of that house.
so... good luck with your decision, but as you can tell you won't please everyone.
how about saving your dough and leaving it as is?
Oh! as PP said too, my favorite color house is yellow! with the white picket fence... ahhh.

I have heard this also, but Im not a huge fan of yellow houses. i really like gray, but beige wouldnt be too bad. (my house is white and i hate it, life needs color, even if its only a little)

Perfect example of how, no matter what, you'll never please everybody!
To base a decision on whether to buy a house on the door color is silly (sorry, no offense meant) because its probably the easiest thing to change!
To the OP - I agree with either beige/black combo, or grey/black/white combo. Something about grey black and white all together is very clean and classic looking (IMO)

i also read something about yellow houses sell fast.
i hate grey house, jmo.
i would look at the houses around you and do something different from them.
my old block has 5 houses on it, three houses were grey and one was an old mustard yellow, we did a the light green color.

This sounds like a great combination. I like it with white trim and a black door.

I would go as neutral as possible.
I hate yellow. I hate pinkish undertone.
So beige/tan or grey would be my choice.
With nice white trims to make it stand out and look crisp and clean. Black shutters.
Otherwise, stick to white.

I love your idea. For the door, really any of those colors are great, but if you are worried what they will look like, then maybe just stick with a white door. It will still look very nice. GL!
