What colour would you paint the walls?

I am thinking of getting a nice red couch and decorating with black and white. What colour would you paint the walls? I am leaning toward tannish, but I am not sure if that is too many colours.

I am pretty clueless to decorating. Thanks for any help!

I think a tan/beige color would look the best. Not to many colors. or you could go with a light grey. I think that would look really nice. I guess it depends on if you are traditional or more modern or transitional.

I would leave the walls white or a very light gray. Red,black & white are enough colors IMO the tan/brown would be too much

I would also do white or gray since black white and red are all cool colors and throwing a warm one in there would look weird.

Is white too boring? I have lived with all white walls for the last 5 years. .

I may change the colour scheme. Does red couches with tan walls and black accents sound ok? I was thinking in the future I can always change the accents with different plillows etc if I get bored in the future.

Grey may be an option as well. I have to check out the paint store and see what they have.
