What did everyone get done around the house this weekend?

Its Monday, lets update.

Saturday we spent most of the day building the most pimped out bunny hutch you've ever seen for SD's bunny. Today Nicole & I will paint it & then I'll post pics.

We also continued the fence project.
DH has now started building a homemade picket fence with a gate for one area, Nicole started painting the pieces that are done.

Yesterday we scored big on Craigslist & got a pond liner, UV light, filter & two water plants for $30!!!!!!
DH dug the hole & put the pond liner in.
Last year we got all the rocks to make the waterfall & go around the pond for free-so now we just need a pump & we are set!

I'm off from work this week so I'm planning on starting the rest of my seeds in the green house, continuing the fence project & digging the trench for the electric to the pond.

sounds fabulous!!!!

We painted our living room - im not too crazy about the color, but FH is installing the hardwood floors today, so I was on a time crunch.

The hardwoods will be done tomorrow - i'll post pics then!

FH is off this week, so after the hardwoods he is laying the new porcelain tile for the kitchen and entryway and the mosaic for the entryway

Still working on the bathroom!!

I am going to prime the walls today and hopefully paint on Wednesday. Then on Friday we can install the tower and vanity!!

I really cant wait for it to be done!!

We raked and raked and raked and our yard still looks like a mess.

We also cleaned the house in the inside, and now all we have to do is wash the floors, but everything else has been dusted and cleaned.

This weekend...lets see! We're officially in our house! No more apt! I cried when we left.
Anyway! I'm currently living in a sea of boxes. Every time I thought I was getting somewhere, DH brought home more boxes from the apt.

I'm dying to get outside and start the spring clean up but there is sooo much to do inside that I can't even acknowledge our outside.

DH had to work most of the weekend but was able to pull out the rest of the carpet on Friday. I spackled, started cleaning and painted a few closets. Today, he starts painting the bedrooms!!! Hopefully after he starts painting it will look more like we've done something! Right now, as we start more projects, everything just looks dirty with all of the dust and everything.

Potofluck-its takes over 40 big black bags to clean up the leaves every fall(& they are even our trees!) so I know how you feel!

Lorich-we moved in during the summer & I felt the same way about the yard.
I cried when we left our townhouse for the last time too We are patiently waiting for more pics of your house!

Didn't get a whole lot done, but did go up on the 2nd story roof to pull off the rest of the gutter that was damaged and half off from the last ice storm. Also fixed some damaged shingles while I was up there. Next weekend, need to buy some fascia boards to repair the water damaged boards, and put up the new RainHandler gutter replacements I ordered. I hate working on the 2nd story roof. That's a long ways down...

We're using Sherwin Williams paints and we're going with a Cream, Green and Yellow color for the rooms DH says he's going to paint today (he has to work tonight so I think he's being a bit ambitious painting 3 rooms but, we shall see!)

I did nothing around the apt this weekend except clean up the inside. I got all my beach bags together to take with me food shopping this week - hopefully that means no more nonbiodegradable plastic bags!

Kelly, you simply must take progress pictures and document what you do! I would love to know how you did it, mistakes to avoid, etc. for when it's our turn.

Did you level the soil before you put the liner in? Use any sand to level it out? How deep and wide is the pond?

Everything sounds great. Can't wait till I can contribute my own "home project" info!

touched up the paint in the living room and along the stairs

painted ceiling in kitchen

got mattress for our bed so we assembled the futon in the guest bedroom!

put up curtains in living room

put up new towel rack in master bath

put new faucet in downstairs bathroom (bronze) with new towel ring and Tp holder

Lots of little things.....next big project is painting guest bedroom (we are going with stripes like we saw on Trading spaces this weekend - can't wait!)

visited many tile stores trying to pick out floor and wall tiles for the bathroom reno!

When I close my eyes, they swirl with tiles ... ugh.

DH had to repair the front porch, one of the boards was old and rotted out so of course it became a bigger project than it should have.

We started planning for the new stone walkway to the side door and around the back, and a new BILCO door to get rid of the unsightly rusted metal one.

Last week we hung a screan door It looks so nice and completes the front door area.

This weekend we had some new carpet put dwon in our side entry and basement stairs. We also hung some new blinds in our bedroom .

Then yesterday I shopped in my moms basement and spare room for old stuff. It was fun. I found two pictures, an old copper tea kettle for our wood burning stove, a mirror, and an old cabinet that I cleaned up to store some supplies, etc. So fun

We finished painting the 2nd bath. I feel like we have been doing this forever.

We picked out new bedroom furniture and then we scored a plasma tv!

Other than that we are getting ready to work on the outside and I'm heading to the basement to clean that out

DH insulated our attic since the baby's room always feels so much cooler than the rest of the house (cape).

Also got all of the things we need to work on the closet flooring (next weekend).

Just finished ordering the wood blinds for the windows and will hopefully get the rods up next weekend.

Just bits and pieces. Saturday DH put in 2 butterfly bushes and cleaned up around the yard.

I hung a mirror in our guest room that I customized to make it look like a Martha Stewart design I saw, but to match the colors of the room.

We put up a small and narrow shelf over our claw-foot tub in the main bathroom. It matches the wainscotting nicely.

Last night I tried out samples of BM paints in our TV room/3rd bedroom. I think we're going with Shelburne Buff. We'll start working on it over the Easter weekend.

We're very nearly getting 100% done.

Bought the vanity, countertop, mirror and over the john cabinet as well as the tiles for the main bathroom we are going to renovate soon.

DH started touching up the walls in our bedroom to prep them for priming.

This weekend I was sick so I did nothing. But last thursday we did have our PVC fence installed. I will post pics sometime this week.

Yesterday our contractor came back to install our New custom molding on our outside front door and our new Mantle. I just need to paint them white.

Wednesday he is coming back to finish up our kitchen.

We moved the frig, and ordered a cabinet to go over it, and then we were able to bring our pantry back into the kitchen, that has been in the garage for the past year and a half since we didnt have room for it.

I will post pics when everything is done.

Tomorrow we are getting an estimate for inground sprinklers.
