For one of my DD's I did a bowling party and that was a hit. Between the bumpers and the ramp that they set up for the toddlers, it's very doable & fun!

We did the schoolhouse museum in boynton, it's such a cute place and all the kids and parents loved it! We did it on a saturday and it was pretty empty, but if you do it on a sunday it's not open to the public so you have the whole place to yourself.

My DD is only 4 months so I am not there yet, but we will probably always have house parties. She is born at the end of May, so the weather is nice (hopefully) to have an outdoor party.

Re: What did you do for your two year old's bday party?
I'm going back and forth between having it at a play place vs having it at a park. We did a big party at the house for his 1st last year and I really don't want to do it at the house again - don't want all the stress. Not sure what to do though because I feel like I'm not sure if he has enough baby/toddler friends to make it worth having at a kiddie place. Also, if I do that, I can't expect any of my non-mom friends to come. It's very popular down here in Florida to rent a pavillion at a park and have an outdoor party. His birthday is end of January, so chances are the weather would be good, but you still never know. I would hire some type of entertainment - balloon person, music, etc. In some ways, it would be a lot of work - bring all the food, decorations, etc, but I would keep the mess out of my house. Also, then non-kid friends could come. Just not sure which direction to go!

We did a pool party in our backyard. His birthday is at the end of June so we typically always have good weather.

Definitely do that! You are right that is done a lot down here, we've been to several parties at parks the last few years.
If Sienna's birthday was that time of year I would do that every year (she's August so it's out of the question).
Oh and we had her bday at that schoolhouse museum and had friends come who didn't have kids, I was worried about that too but they all had a great time. The kids ran around and the parents/adults chatted.

Thanks, Jess. Right now, I'm leaning towards the park, but I have to see. Just don't know if it will be a huge pain in the butt! Worried about not having enough for the kids to do! or, besides the one "entertainment thing" I'm going to do, do I just let the kids play in the park? Also, the park that I want to have it at says "no vendors" and they put in parenthesis - no bounce house, DJ, etc. You think I could get away with having someone like a children's musician (not DJ) or face painter? I guess if I was approached, I could always say it was a relative! Meanwhile, it's about time we got out two together!

Re: What did you do for your two year old's bday party?
For DD I'm hoping to do a small party at home (or in the party room in my dad's office building) and have a pony come.
We went to a bday party at Nunleys Carousel this weekend and that was really cute!
