What do I do?
Hi Ladies,
Yesterday Ava's school had a book trade. Ava bought in 3 books and she was able to pick 3 new books. A little girl in her class didn't bring in a book and sort of bullied Ava to give her one of hers. Ava agreed and told her she can have the American Girl Doll book she picked. The little girl wanted the Tinkerbell book that Ava did not want her to have. The girl took it andput it in her backpack. Ava was afraid to tell the teacher because she didn't want to get the girl in trouble. Now, what do I do. I feel bad for Ava. Should I contact the teacher or the girls parents. Petty, I know, but I feel my daughter was bullied to give up something that was rightfully hers.. TIA, Denise

Re: What do I do?
I would tell the teacher what happened, maybe the teacher has incite as to what happened.
If not, then she could maybe tell you what to do. Contact the parent ect...

Re: What do I do?
I would call the teacher & let her know what went on. It's not petty. I'd also encourage Ava to always speak up. If she feels like she's tattling, one piece of advice that was given to me by another money is to loudly object to what is going on (enough so the teacher hears).

Re: What do I do?
We had a SOMEWHAT similar situation in my son's class with the Valentine's fundraiser. Ugh, those evens NEVER end well! I posted about it here about a month ago...
Anyway, you should definitely contact the teacher, tell her what happened and let her handle it.

Re: What do I do?
Thank you so much Ladies. Yes, Ava and I had a long talk about bullying and how to speak up.. I wrote a letter to the teacher and Ava is going to tell the girl that she would like her book back. Hopefully the teacher can handle it. Thank you so much for your advice.. Thank you also for understanding, its not the book, but the principal behind it.. Denise

Re: What do I do?
I would definately call the teacher, I dont think you are being petty at all. Id be upset. And as said above, Id definately have a talk with DD so she learns how to speak up for herself alittle more.
