what do I need for a beach vacation with an infant?

We're taking DD to Puerto Rico next month. She'll be 5 1/2 months old. She can't sit up on her own yet and I doubt she will be in a month so how does it work? I don't want to hold her the entire time on the beach - but what do I put her in? Her McClaren stroller? Do I bring a boppy?

And as far as the pool, is there a lifevest or tube that is safe for a baby her age? DH and I will be holding her but I still don't feel 100% comfortable with nothing on her.

Next- the bath. I saw from the Right Start a blow up bathtub which looks great- but she can't sit up yet - so what do I do for that?

And one last question - can you bring powdered formula on planes?

And is there anything else you would bring with you?

Thanks but she can't sit up - so would i just put her in there to lay flat?

And yes, good idea- sunglasses, extra towels...

Thanks!

definitly, you can even bring the bobby pillow to sit her up in.. or just roll some towels like a boppy that would be easier..i also have this round "beach" bed that i got at bru for when they were babies...but she's probably too big for something like that.

I can answer the formula question. I just flew last week and brought the powdered formula with me with no problem. I had her bottles filled with water too and didn't have any problems. I can't answer your other questions. I have not brought her to the beach yet.

Have fun!!

We just went to the beach last week and we brought a sheet for Charlie to lie on, his car seat, and an umbrella. He was very happy sitting in his seat looking around. In addition to his bottles I gave him sips of water all day.
As you can see, we brought a lot of toys. The plushy ones got gross from him sucking on them and then sand getting stuck to them. The ones that rinse off were best.

Have fun!
