what do i need to know about linkedin?
i'm not looking for a job or leads but i've got a lot of requests lately to join.... if i do join what info should i add to my account... my boss is on it, should i request his "connection'?

I have an account and have my resume and work history on it. Honestly, I think most of all, linkedin is a great way to keep your co-oworkers from trying to friend you on facebook. It's business only.
You should probably be connected with people you know in the industry who could potentially lead to any good opportunities in the future. You boss would be included in that category.

3 of my ex-bosses are linked to me on that site..I think its a great resource because someone you connect to now may open doors for you later in your career..You never know...and also there is an opportunity to have an ex or current boss write a nice recommendation for you that shows up on your profile. I think its a total win win situation...
