What do you call your MIL?
Just curious...
I call her by her first name. I don't even remember if she ever told me to call her mom, but I probably wouldn't anyway (just me). My mother called her MIL mom, so it doesn't seem foreign to me, but still, I'm just not comfortable. I do love her to pieces though...

i rarely call her anything 
she does not feel like a "mom" to me but at the same time I feel silly calling her by her first name, so I do my best to avoid calling her anything...

i started out calling her by her first name, but she always signs things "mom".
i feel like i COULD call her mom and many times i want to... but i just feel awkward switching, KWIM?

DH calls my mom "Mom" and the same for my dad!

it took me a while to get used to though...and I had a conversation w/her about it ... I asked her what she called her MIL (she said mom) and asked her if it took some getting used to...she said yes. So after that I knew she'd prefer me to call her mom and from then on I did. I'm used to it now and don't feel uncomfortable at all.

Ok on a serious note I actually call her the equivalent of Mrs. in Spanish - senora. I have know her since I was 17 so its just stuck with me.

I call her mom, at her request. 7 married years later, it still feels a little awkward, especially if my mom is there too!
Luckily, with the kids, I can call her Gram and get away with that.

I either call her by her first name or Nonna. I brought it up once soon after we were married and they both seemed uncomfortable with the idea of me calling them mom and dad, so I just left it alone. They are wonderful people, they're just not the warmest. I know that my parents would love for DH to call them mom and dad but he's just not comfortable with it. I guess it's just his weird family.

Each set of parents asked me and DH to call them Mom and Dad. So that is what we do. I know it feels weird to me sometimes, and I can hear it in DH's voice that it sometimes sounds weird to him too. We do it out of respect for them.

I avoid calling her anything because they never told me what to call them so I have no idea. Mr and Mrs seems weird and a little impersonal but I have never called any adults (from my parents generation) by their first names so that's uncomfortable for me as well. And I'm certainly not calling her mom! We don't really talk so it's not too big of an issue.
