What do you do about naptime when you are at a party?
DD has a party that starts at 2pm. That's exactly when she starts her second nap. Should I just go late? She will be a nightmare without a nap, but I'm not sure she will sleep at the persons house with all the other kids and commotion. If I do try to put her down there where would she sleep? I can't put her on a bed anymore because of rolling and crawling.
What do you do?

How far away is it? Will she fall asleep in the car?

It's only a 15 minute car ride. She won't fall asleep that fast.

Could you try to bump her napping schedule up for the day and then be a little late? I try to work around my DD's nap schedule too.

Re: What do you do about naptime when you are at a party?
SHe's still sleeping for her AM nap, so I'm not sure if she'll be tired by 1pm. I should have thought about this earlier and put her down earlier for her AM nap. I guess it's worth a shot, but I doubt she'll go down that early.
I'm usually not picky about the naps, but it will be a long afternoon at the party and with no nap it won't be fun for anyone

Re: What do you do about naptime when you are at a party?
We just had a situation like this last night. After spending a week getting their scheduels perfect as per "Helathy Sleeping Habits, Happy Child" a "required" dinner at the IL's screwed things up.
DD got way off schedule and I'm spending the morning trying to get them back in synch
If it's 15 minutes away, I'd go late.
I'm not changing their schedule anymore after last night and this morning

Lately I just go late to places b/c DD only takes one nap/day and if she doesn't get it, it's really not fun to be anywhere!

Re: What do you do about naptime when you are at a party?
It depends on where you are going. I try putting DS down a little earlier for a nap. He takes a while to fall asleep. Sometimes we do end up getting there late but if it's a house party then it's ok. I mean I have gotten to parties an hour late and there were still other people that hadn't gotten there yet. I mean an hour late is not the end of the world. Sometimes DS will fall asleep at a party if I put him down but he won't sleep long cuz of the commotion but hey I'll take a catnap, anything...as long as he gets something.

THanks ladies. I put her down at 1pm, she fell asleep at 1:30 and she's still So it looks like we will be late.
It's ok we always are the ones to stay late and help clean up.
