What do you do if you don't have a lot of closet space?

Public storage and parent's basements are not options.

I guess it depends what type of storage you need. What about those cabinets you can buy at ikea.

there are a lot of storage solutions that you can for around your house like an ottaman that lifts up and has a storage bin, closest storage units, etc.

we dont have a basement or an attic - but we have a garage, extension on the garage, a huge shed, storage under our staircase, every bedroom has a nice size closet and our master bedroom closet is huge.

I would make sure every closet had an organizer

Since I live in a ranch, we have a serious lack of closet space. We have an armoire in our room, and we also have another large storage unit in my attic. We only keep items in our room that are appropriate for the season. It is a little bit of a PITA, but it has worked so far.

Can you get the closet specialists to come in and maximize your closet space? add shelfing units, etc?

Also I would make sure I was super organized and didn't have stuff I didn't need/want.

I bought huggable hangars from HSN. they seriously doubled my closet space. that definitely helped!

I have metal white crates that could be put together to form a two shef system in my closet. That's what I use for my bulky sweater, sweatshirts on top and my shoes on the bottom.
