What do you do in your free time?

I know that some may say "free time? What's that?"

But I'm really curious. When you have free time, be it just you, or you and DH, or you DH, and kids, what do you do?

I feel like when I have free time, all I do is watch TV, play on the computer, or go out to eat. I really want to try to find other activities that aren't so electronics centered.

I'm trying to find other things to do that are relaxing, but still fun (and preferably fairly inexpensive).

i knit

i do other crafts, but mostly, i knit.

it's something that can get VERY expensive, but it's also something that can help you stretch your dollar. depends on each person.

i knit while watching tv, as a pasenger in a car, while waiting in the dr's office... etc

I know what you mean about the computer and the tv, it is amazing how addicting they can both be. I have started to crochet and both DH & I have decided that we want to read more. Also, now that the weather is nice we want to start taking walks on the beach in the evening.

I Read!

Ive loved book since I was a little kid- its like taking a mini-vacation when I read since I become absorbed in the story , in another place or time.

I'd like to get into gardening now that we have a house and land.

For the past few years all I did was work on my dissertation. But now that that is done, DH and I are starting to do more outdoors which we love to do. We find new parks and nature centers and go hiking and exploring. This summer we have a list of all the local places we have wanted to visit but never got to see, and every weekend we are going to explore a new place (Sunken Forest, Greenport, etc.).

We're working on picking hobbies that we can do together...I hate that when we are on our computers we aren't doing something together, so we are signing up for a BOCES cooking class which should be fun.

DH is also OBSESSED with the Mets and we have season tix, so we often go to games together. He also wants to visit all the baseball parks in the U.S. so we are starting out with the Eastern U.S., but trying to go on little trips to see as many ballparks we possible. Yesterday was a day trip to Phila.

I read alot in my spare time, and have gotten back into scrap booking. I have recently gotten DH into reading as well. I also go to the gym & run in the park, but DH and I have gotten into going walking together in the park. In the summer we spend most of our free time at the boat.

I scrapbook, I'm learning to sew, love to knit but it aggrevates my carpal tunnel so I don't, I read tons of books, I garden, care for my many pets, decorate or rearrange things in my house. Lately I've been spending lots of time working on stuff for my new business venture.
DH & I love hiking every weekend, fishing, boating,swimming in our lake when the weather is nice.
We do lots of home improvement projects in our free time too.
We also love having parties & spend lots of time planning, setting up & having them.

In my free time I love reading, running, and swimming. Recently I have been trying to limit my computer time since it can engulf way too much time.

I love gardening and doing home improvement projects with DH on weekends. We also do our share of TV and computer.

i also do cross stitch - i havent since the wedding though so i am looking for a new project

if the weather is nice i will go for a walk

i WISH i could crochet or knit - i have tried to learn but I just cant pick it up

in the summer- lay out at the pool and read
running

today I have spent (so far) 6 hours on an "online garage sale" I cleaned out my closet and found 60 items I no longer wear in perfect condition- and I am about half way done listing them on ebay

I dont have a lot of free time..and most of what I do is related to my kids.

I love taking pics of the kids so Im planning on getting started on some memory books for them. With all these kids that should keep me busy.

Im a big reader...

I love to cook and try out new recipes...

When the weather is nice Im a big beach and outdoors person too. Even if it's just around my neighborhood.

I love to read, walk my dog, workout, sit down at the beach with a cup of coffee...

Right now at 11:30 p.m. I finally have free time and I am on LIF.

I really don't have ne "spare Time" lately. But if I have a moment I am usually on the computer or watching a movie with Jay. Too busy with Benny and Joey (who is still in NICU)
