What do you do when your toddler is sick?
What do you do when your toddler has a good ole cold?
I dont think (I hope not anyway) that anything else is wrong with Megan. She was stuffy when sleeping and sneezing a lot. During the day, she had a little bit of a cough.
I gave her tylenol (she felt a bit warm), cooled her down, aspirated her nose and in the middle of the night, took her in bed with me so she could sleep propped on pillows and had the cool mist humidifier going.
What else do you do? I want to nip it in the bud before it gets really bad. Any other tips?

They say you can't really shorten the duration of a cold-- it takes "7 days with medicine, or a week without"....
My ped said the very best advice is tons of water-- keeping them very hydrated is a natural way to thin mucus and thus help the congestion.
I do Tylenol if he feels warm, I use saline spray in his nose followed by the aspirator to clear it out (my kid is weird, he loves it and ASKS for it if he sees the bottle), Vicks BabyRub on the chest a couple times a day, and that's it. When he's congested I like to make him warm soup for dinner too just for comfort.
My DS has a cold right now, that's what made me notice this post, lol.

tons of fluids - but I actually don't use tylenol or motrin to bring down a fever until it's 103+ low fevers are good to fight the infection
