what do you eat for lunch?
I work in the city and this is all new to me so I'm always freaking out that I'm eating the wrong thing. (I'm in my 5th week)
Is it true that you can't eat deli meats? So, no sandwiches? Obviously, no sushi. And if I get a salad, steer clear of soft cheeses? What are considered soft cheeses? Gorgonzola, blue cheese? What about mozzarella?
Sorry for all the questions, just really confused and I look silly when I go for lunch with my friends from work and I take forever to decide what to eat!

Re: what do you eat for lunch?
Don't apologize!
You'll get different answers from different people on this subject. My best friend, who is a cold-cuts-aholic, did not have a single cold cut her whole 9 months. I have had a few sandwiches here and there. It's all about comfort level.
Per my doctor, the only things I cannot eat are raw meat and raw fish. The rest is fine in moderation and from a reputable place (i.e. no street vendors ).
I generally have pb&j with an apple and a string cheese for lunch, though that's gotten old lately so I've been terrible and buying lunch (and BAD lunches) every day this week so far. It ebbs and flows, though - you'll find what's right for you.
Oh, and congratulations

I have had cold cuts a handful of times....I truly believe everything in moderation. However, I usually eat pb & j, egg salad, or left overs,

Re: what do you eat for lunch?
Maybe I am a bad mommy but I eat deli meat. I did with DS and I'm eating it now. I like off of ham and cheese. I do try to eat Boars Head when I can - just to feel better about the whole thing. If I didn't eat deli meats I don't know what I would eat.
I do eat a lot of Pizza, the cheese is cooked but I eat fresh moz all the time. If you really have concerns, I know there are lists on baby center and also ask your doctor.

Re: what do you eat for lunch?
I usually have leftovers from dinner the night before... Salads (you can eat blue cheese and mozzarella as long as they are pasteurized... I have yet to find a bleu cheese that isn't)... Chicken salad, egg salad, pizza, burgers, seriously anything you want!

Re: what do you eat for lunch?
First, congratulations!!
I eat Pizza (but the heartburn kicked in, so I'm off of that for a while), a lot of pb&j, and chicken salad. I also eat bagels with cheese or cereal (I have a kithchen at work)
I have eaten a few deli sandwiches..it's been a craving and I eat them when I want to. I had MS for almost 7 weeks, so I'm eating what I crave right now. No raw meat, and no sushi, but other than that, everything in moderation.

Re: what do you eat for lunch?
I couldn't eat much, so if something appealed to me, I ate it, even if it was salami and provolone. I ate a lot of grilled cheese, pb&j, cheez it's.
I actually liked packing my lunchwhen I was pregnant b/c I could pack more snack type things and not have to spend a billion dollars on crap.

Re: what do you eat for lunch?
everything in moderation. Alot of cheese, lettuce, tomato sandwiches and i get the fresh-carved turkey with swiss sometimes. As long as you get your coldcuts from a reputable place and they're fresh its ok.
Peanut butter & jelly egg salad you can have tuna 1-2x per week pizza grilled veggie panini grilled chicken

Re: what do you eat for lunch?
you cant have feta cheese.
As for the lunch meats, drs say not to have them bc you can get listeria which is a bacteria that can go to the baby.
I stayed away from them and cant wait to eat it again..
i ate alot of yogart, egg salad, left overs for lunch now i am soo sick of food i just dont know what i want anymore

Re: what do you eat for lunch?
Per my Dr.- no un pasteurized soft cheese. No cold cuts no sushi, raw meat No alcohol That was about it. Oh, and restricted caffeine.
I agree with the ladies that say "everything in moderation", but I still tend to not eat those things.
Cold cuts, I would assume OK if in paninis or hot sandwiches, as they are heated to "steaming hot", as recommended.
I usually eat a morningstar chick'n patty in a wrap with some veggies. Or pizza Or Taco Bell
ETA- most types of soft cheese are available pasturized, like the feta I buy at the supermarket- Athenos brand. I am sure bleu is available too- I plan to stay away from it at Greek restaurants, though- where it's home made.
