What do you make of this?

Dh went on 2nd interview...got a call the following day from recruiter saying he should be recieving an offer no later than the next day. Its been a week so Dh sends the hiring manager a follow up email to see if position had been filled and he got no response. Its frustrating because what was the point of the recruiter calling to say get ready for an offer if no offer was going ro be made.

That is frustrating.

Hope it works out but it sounds like they might've found another candidate.

So the recruiter has contacted DH three times in the last week. On Tuesday to let him know that he was still a top candidate but they were waiting on clarity, whatever that means. Yesterday at the end of the day to let him know that recruiter was meeting with management this morning to finalize details and then again this morning after his meeting with management advising that they need a higher up to sign off on it and that he will get back to him by the end of the day. Its the end of the day and no phone call.

This process has been dragged out for so long. I know you don't have an offer until an offer is presented, but its hard not to get your hopes up when the guy calls to tell him they are just waiting on the signature of upper managemen. The no phone call is a real bummer. The recruiter could have at least called to say hey they still haven't signed off or something.

my company is so slow at making an offical offer, took 6 months to get in, if he is now getting contacted that means he is still in the running
