I gave my Yorkie Frontline last night and I swear he was tripping for awhile....he was acting like a madman and I started to think about what chemicals are in that stuff....

We do have a backyard and I want to protect him against fleas and ticks, but I'm not sure this is the best way....do you think stuff like Frontline is safe?

My dogs are on frontline and I've never noticed them tripping or clumsy afterwards...I feel like its safe, especially if its something my vet recommends it; and I most def want to have my dogs protected.
If your concerned I would call the vet.

Bruno never acts weird from it.
I do worry about the chemicals but I'm more worried about the diseases from ticks and other bugs since Frontline is so widely used and hasn't been pulled yet.
Maybe it was just crazy time for your dog????

I use frontline, no fleas on Bailey and he doesnt even flinch when i put it on.

I wouldnt use advantix on dogs, becuase you cant use it on cats..that seems weird to me.

Scout gets Frontline - DH puts it on at night before we go to bed so that by the morning it is dry.

He has never had any kind of reaction to it.

My previous dog was on it and yet got Lyme Disease. So now I get a lyme vaccine as well. I would be afraid NOT to protect Scout, after what we went through with Ebony. He also goes to the park a LOT.

I use Frontline on Misty and have never seen her react in any way.
Like Kara, we take her to parks and woods a lot and I am way more worried about Lyme disease than a reaction to medication. She also gets all vaccines including the Lepto vaccine, a disease which can be contracted from raccoon urine.

My dog runs around like a madman (zoomies) after getting his Frontline. but that is because he doesn't like having a "wet spot." He tries to run it off. He does the same thing when he comes in from the rain and after a bath.

Re: What do you think about products like Frontline?

I use Revolution every month, all year round. I thnk about the chemicals, but tell myself there is no other option b.c I dont want fleas (they did get fleas last year, lots in my beighborhood) but they didnt get infested and the revolution did the job.

To me there is no choice, I wont have flea infestations in my house. I cant worry abotu the rest.

I felt like Frontline made Peanut crazy right after we put it on. Also suppressed her appetite and sometimes made her puke. We switched to Advantix and all symptoms are gone, plus Advantix protects against more then just fleas!

My dog has passed but when he was alive I refused to put chemicals on him. He was just under 14 when he passed and chemical free.

My MIL uses Frontline on her two yorkies. The puppy finds it a bit itchy at first and rubs himself on the ground, but he stops within a few minutes. The senior yorkie doesn't react to it and just goes and lies down afterwards.

yeah, i am the same, its just too risky imo.

i know alot of ppl use it and thats great if it works for them, but i wont risk it.

my friends cat got severe seizures from Frontline. it can cause nuerological damage. just too scary.

i figure, they didnt have this back in the day and pets lived just fine.

We use Neem spray. It's a natural alternative. For 2 reasons- My dog is highly allergic to chemicals and I have a 15 month old that is always touching her.

Re: What do you think about products like Frontline?

Considering what Lyme can do to a pet AND an owner and we regularly have deer in the backyard, I have no choice but to use these products.

Luna's never had a reaction.
