What do you think is harder to cope with?

Being rejected emotionally or being rejected physically?

Emotionally.

When I have been rejected physically, I could find an obvious "crutch" and it made the rejection easier. However, when the crutch no longer existed, and rejection was still happening, it forced me to look deeper and I realized I had a lot more work to do on myself - a much harder task.

Re: What do you think is harder to cope with?

do you mean someone rejecting you based on personality vs. looks?

if so, i think its harder to be rejected because of looks. i happen to like my personality, and if someone doesn't like it, that's their problem.

physically, though, i always think there's room for improvement - and if i was called out on an insecurity, it would probably hurt

I say personality.

If someone rejects me b/c of my looks, I am fine with that. For example: some guys don't like blonds, tall, short hair, etc. Rejecting me on the "outside" is alot easier to deal with then someone rejecting me for who I am on the "inside".

Re: What do you think is harder to cope with?

i think emotionally.

if i am rejected physically - i can eventually find a place where i fit in and can be accepted. i also think that for the most part you can change the physical - lose weight, change your hair, put on some makeup.

IMO - emotional rejection is so much harder. i still remember things as far back as elementary school that panged my heart. friends betraying me, insults from old bosses, broken hearts from old boyfriends - i think when you start messing with the internal it harbors so much longer.

depends on who's doing the rejecting. If it were DH, Both would hurt equally as much.

if it were anyone else, i wouldn't really care about either.

Emotional rejection definitely.

If someone rejected me for something physical, I would immediately interpret that rejection as a flaw in the other person's character so it would roll off my back.
