What do you think? Kitchen idea

This is NOT our kitchen but the configuration of our kitchen

Frig goes into the space on the right and center island is across from double sink and D/W to the right. Door by the would-be frig is the pantry and the formal dining room is at the back of this pic.

The breakfast area has a built in desk + cabinets. The desk is along the same side as the sinks.

ETA - HATED IT Chat Icon We spent hours looking at cabinet combos tonight and HATED the idea I have been looking at for weeks. It's totally different in person Chat Icon

* Back to the drawing board* But keeping the dark slate flooring. Chat Icon

My cabinet color and flooring idea but configured for our kitchen

We would also do stainless appliances but not the backsplash pictured. Wall color would likely be BM - Manchester Tan with Super White trim.

Anyone have slate flooringChat Icon Pros cons to slate flooringChat Icon

That would be beautiful.

My parents have slate in their den - I HATE IT. It's always so cold in there - even with the fireplace and the floor is very hard on your feet/legs.

That all looks and sounds great but why is the stove facing that direction? Chat Icon

You know, I have been looking at these two pics for weeks and never noticed the stove faces a weird direction. Maybe the kraftmaid layout has sinks or something behind the stoveChat Icon

Kind of seems like a table is there thoughwith that rug Chat Icon StrangeChat Icon Chat Icon

That is a concern, that the stone is hard on the legs.Chat Icon Chat Icon

Slate is also extremely slippery when it gets wet - something else to keep in mind.

I thought it was the opposite - that it absorbs moisture so its really good when it gets wet and doesnt get slippery? Maybe there are different types?

Slate flooring is difficult for liquids to penetrate. The surface is rough so it has slip resistance.

You may mean honed slateChat Icon That could be slippery when wet.

That stove looks awful built into the cabinet! Why wouldn't the kitchen designer of that show kitchen pick something more practical and go with a cooktop and built under stove? Honestly, some people!

I didn't think the stove looked that bad, it would definitely be easier to replace if something broke. I don't like the way it's facing though, it should face the fridge and sink.
I like the second kitchen much better than the first.

Its beautiful. Can you rotate the island 90 degrees so you have a nice work triangle with the stove facing into the sink and fridge?
