What do you think of this area in deer park

friend of mine is buying a house in deer park which i don't know a lot about. but when i looked thre they showed me some shady areas and then some nice areas and it just scared me how FAST the neighborhood over there changes. anyhow, friends are buying a house off deer park avenue, on lucille ave, next to train tracks, and across the street from their home is an apartment complex. they asked me for my opinion so i drove by and looked at it and don't know how to tell them that i don't think it is so good. they are clsing any day now. paying like 470, for a two family colonial, 75x100 or so, 3 bedrooms down stairs, 3 bedrooms up. i would have never bought it b/c of the train tracks and apartment complex combo but they said it is the first house they looked at and fell in love with

I truely feel there is a house out there for everyone. To you being near the train would be a big no-no, but to others it may not be so bad.

Especially since its a two-family, will then be getting rent as well?

I used to rent over there. It is not bad at all but the traffic on DPA and the teen drivers could kill you! The area is a nice middle class neighborhood.

no, they are will hae family living upstairs

it's not the train tracks i don't like, it's the apartment complex. the street over there was packed in the middle of a weekday.

and true, there is a house for everyone. i use to live near the train tracks and never bothered me at all. now, there is no train tracks near me and it was tooooo quiet when i first moved in.
