Suggestions - make the top & bottom photos line up.
Maybe you can also make all of the progressions B&W and the new one in color?
Not sure if this is getting away from what you were looking to do, but maybe put some text on what month it is.

any suggestions on how to make the photos line up? I tried best I could.
As for text for each month....as in how many months old he is or the actual month (jan, feb).
