What do you use to paint kitchen cabinets?
We're thinking about painting the cabinets soon but I'm afraid they're not going to come out nice because if we use brushes to paint the doors, etc. isn't it going to leave brush strokes? Would you use brushes, rollers, sprayer? Thanks!
It has to come out nice because we'll be trying to sell the house soon.

DH used brushes to paint the cabinets and they came out nice (you can see a few strokes here and there).
He went to Sherwin Williams to buy the paint and they were very helpful once he explained what he was doing.

Our contractor did ours, but we were here when it was going on so I can tell you they used brushes on the edges and then rolled the flat part - we have totally flat doors with no molding so it was pretty easy. No brush strokes, but the wood grain was not completely covered.

Re: What do you use to paint kitchen cabinets?
The best thing to do is take a door off and bring it to a paint store... not HD or Lowe's but a real paint store... Benjamin Moore dealer, etc.
Depending upon what your cabinets are made of and the finish is going to depend what course of action you will need to take.
Your prep work and materials are vital in making painted cabinets look good. At the very least you will probably have to sand them down at least a bit to get off surface dirt and rough up the surface so it better takes the paint. Your primer is very important also.
Many of the men who work at paint stores painted houses for years and years and are real experts when it comes to painting tricky surfaces etc.
Good luck.
