What doctor do you go to for hair loss?
I was diagnosed with RA in October. About 6 weeks ago, my hair started coming out in clumps. I cut it short (It was very long and thick) thinking that it being shorter would help but it hasn't helped. The rheumatologist doesn't think it has anything to do with the RA, and all my other bloodwork is fine. My hairline has totally receded, I have bald patches at the nape of my neck and behind my ears, my part has widened and my hair has thinned all over. It's really bad What doctor do you see for this? In all seriousness, I am going to be completely bald if this keeps up. I don't know what to do. Any advice?

My guess would be a dermatologist.

A dermatologist. Have them check for skin or hair issues (ie some forms of lupus only cause alopecia) also if you are on any meds some can affect it as well. Good luck!!!

I would say a dermatologist or an endocrinologist. Have you had your thyroid checked?

What doctor do you go to for hair loss?
Dermatologist only, because hair is on the scalp and that is the skin area only...

Have you had a complete check up with a complete blood count (CBC) recently? I would start there and have my primary doctor send me to the correct specialist.
You might also consider taking liquid silica as it has been clinically proven to increase hair growth and thickness of the strands. I use BioSil liquid which I get on amazon.

My sister went through this. She has RA and thyroid issues.
I will find out, but I am pretty positive they gave her some kind of medicine for it.
Her hair has been back to normal for awhile.
I also think another thing that happened was her skin changed too and she had both dry and raw patches all over her body and parts of her head.

Re: What doctor do you go to for hair loss?
after my diabetis diagnois I lost 1/3 of my hair- then it stopped a month later
my endo did nothing- my thyriod was out of wack- but only recently did I get put on meds for it- like 3 weeks ago
the derm gave me some shampoo- again - I didn't see a difference
if it's on going I would seek the cause- I think the cause of mine was just my body adjusting to being on insulin and controling my BG
I ended up getting extensions and my hair is growing back- it's been almost 2 years-
