What does an ulcer feel like, and
have you ever gotten one due to stress?

No single cause has been found for ulcers. However, it is now clear that an ulcer is the end result of an imbalance between digestive fluids in the stomach and duodenum
What Are the Symptoms?
An ulcer may or may not have symptoms. When symptoms occur, they include:
A gnawing or burning pain in the middle or upper stomach between meals or at night
Bloating
Heartburn
Nausea or vomiting
In severe cases, symptoms can include:
Dark or black stool (due to bleeding)
Vomiting
Weight loss
Severe pain in the mid to upper abdomen
Nic, I do think that stress plays a BIG part in developing ulcers, as well as your diet. And usually eating certain foods can make the symptoms worse (spicy, acidic, coffee/caffeine, etc) ..
I have severe acid reflux that has gotten worse of late, and what my doctor thinks is the start of an esophagal ulcer (yeah what fun!) I need to see a gastro now  and it is really some seriously awful pain (with me it often feels symptomatic of a heart attack, the chest pain , stomach pain and burning sensations is soo bad) but everyone is diff.

other symptooms besides sever abdominal pain are nausea, vomiting, weight loss, fatigue
heartburn, indigestion, excessive belching chest pain vomiting up blood also bloody stools
These are some symptons but you also can have no symptoms at all and still have an ulcer.
And yes ulcers can be caused from stress.
What are some of your symptoms??

-abdominal pain right next to the belly button...almost feels like a pulled muscle, but it's been 2 weeks already.
-nausea and general discomfort - ESPECIALLY at night. To the point where it keeps me up.
-excessive fatigue
no weight loss though!

what side of your stomach is the pain on? Is it just really around your belly button or is it in other areas of your stomach? higher/lower? around your back at all?
I dont think your pain is an ulcer, usually ulcer pain is higher up in the stomach/esophagus area.
This may be TMI but have u had a BM recently? Was it normal in both color and consistency?
I hope you are felling better.
