What does carpeting REALLY cost? what did you pay?
I see sq ft prices, low installation fees, etc. etc. and it doesn't mean a thing to me.
How much did you pay for wall-to-wall carpeting, what did you get done, and what did it cost you?
Are stairs more? Is it more if they have to move furniture?
Do they usually do it in a day?

i forgot our exact room dimensions but i think it's like 12 x 20 and we paid $500 installation included at a local shop. (We try to use only local businesses)

3 bedrooms plus one large den, all done in one day, they do move lighter furniture.
I believe we spent between 2-2500k through Lowes.

4 bedrooms, one large living area - about $2500 includes carpet and install.
3 bedrooms were remnants - master and living area were more expensive carpets (we got the sculptured for both).
Went through Jim Flack on Rt 110. Used the "A" team for install - they were great!

Same here..except with Home Depot..I think it was about 3k..

2.5 years ago we re-carpeted 2 bedrooms. One was 10x10 and the other probbaly 12x14 and it was around $1500.

We got new carpet put in the baby's nursery from Home Depot a few months ago and it was $350. The room is about 12x15 (but we got 15x15 of carpet so there was no seam)... we got a stock carpet called almond beige which is super soft and upgraded underlay. They came within 3 days of payment and did it in a few hours.

You can also look into carpet tiles. You can pull out damaged/stained sections. They're about $97 for 32 square feet (so $3/square foot). I've seen them on HGTV.

We used Jim Flack carpets in Farmingdale. It's a carpet warehouse. All carpets are the same price. I picked from 1000 different carpets. All are in stock.
We have a huge BR (mabe 17 X 17) and the carpet came to $650 installed. I went to 4-5 other companies and was quoted around $1300 for similar carpets.
I went there on Thursday. They came to measure on Friday. Installed Saturday morning at 9am. Quick, easy, cheap and looks great!
