What does your tailor charge to hem pants?
Took dress pants to local dry cleaners and they wanted $10 per pair to hem them. Is that the going-rate now? Thanks

$7 (dry cleaners), but in Brooklyn there is a lot of competition, the place across the street does it for $8 (seamstress/shoe repair place), 3 blocks away for $6 (dry cleaners), another place a few doors down does it $12 (bridal shop).

Mine is 8 or 10 I can't remember...
I know they charged me more to "keep the hem" too...I think that was 12.
Thankfully I'm tall so I've really needed a hem a couple of times!

$16 for mine. It's a rip but they do a great job.

yup, $10 if I want them to replace the original hem. They charge $8 if it's just hemming the bottom. I call it discrimination against the vertically challenged.
