What driving assist features do you have?
What driving assist features do you have on your car(s)?
I don't have any predictive or AI based assist features, but I have ABS, forward and rear cameras, and the parking alarm sensors in the bumpers to let me know if I'm getting close to stuff.
Anyone have lane departure, blind spot warnings, predictive braking, parallel parking mode, partial autonomous mode, etc?

Re: What driving assist features do you have?
My new car has blind spot warning and it truly has become my most favorie thing on my car. I always worry changing lanes about someone in my blind spot- this lights up when someone is in it and i will beep if i put my signal on when someone is in it.
I also have automatic braking- but only if you are going below a certain speed. So in traffic or something and you are rolling stop and go and get distracted and the person stops short. It will beep and then brake for you if you don't.
It will also beep if I'm approaching someone too quickly and not hitting the brake. DH has a Nissan as well so his does that too and I find that I must drive a lot more carefully because mine rarely beeps- but when I am driving with him good lord that thing is beeping all the time. And giving me a heart attack! LOL
I don't use cruise control but on a recent trip DH was using it and it's cool because you can set how many car lengths you want to stay behind the person in front of you . So if you are set at 60 mph and the person in front of you slows a bit, it automatically slows the car down so you stay that many car lengths behind them- so now you are doing 55 instead of 60. In our old car you had to brake manually while in cruise control. Once they speed up again, you speed back up to whatever you set the cruise control at. Pretty cool

Re: What driving assist features do you have?
Power windows. A convertible. ABS (all cars come with that now anyway.
That’s really all I need. My car is old, but I got it cheap and it has low mileage. I used to have a back sensor in the car I had before, but I really didn’t need it. I can parallel park great now thanks to living in a city.
I don’t think I will ever go with a car that drives itself, or automatic for that matter. I need a manual (stick shift) car where I can control it and be able to do it myself.
I’ll never buy an automatic car ever again, so extras are lost on a person like me. Give me a small car with some nice stereo, and I’m good!

I only use the rear camera. And even that took me awhile to get used to. Everything else I turned off. My car was beeping all the time and I was having 7 heart attacks over it. Mind you it is 5 years old now so I can only imagine the technology now.

Blind spot, lane assist, automatic braking at high and low speeds, heads up display, front and rear cameras.
I almost never use the cameras when I park. I don’t want to become a long islander and not be able to parallel park.

2019 Jeep Cherokee Overland with every single thing in there.
I have all of the above and adaptive cruise control, Apple Car Play (which really is the best bc it reads me my messages while im driving and i dictate back a response), an alarm if my hands aren't on the steering wheel for an extended period of time , car keeps me in my lane for me (this part can be tricky because if I'm purposely trying to stay away from someone who's swerving a bit, the car fights me to stay in the lane) Hands free foot activated tailgate lift.. There's probably more. I went all in on this latest truck because my nephew got me a SICK deal on a 36 mo. lease (Getting DHs car once it's paid off)

Re: What driving assist features do you have?
I recently rented a car that had lane assist. I wish I could've figured out how to turn that off. It was so annoying that every single time I would veer a little to the right, it would jerk to the left. At first I didn't know what it was and thought I had a tire problem! I found it totally annoying and stressful!

I didn’t realize how out dated my car was until this thread. I was excited it had the USB port for my phone.

lol yes sorry I do have Bluetooth as well. I just don’t use it because it scares me when the car starts ringing.

I don’t even have a USB port, lol. My Bluetooth is a radio transmitter that goes into the cigarette lighter.
I don’t understand what half of these functions are really for. I mean are they useful? I understand the back and front bumper sensors, but lane assist? Really? Shouldn’t you be able to change lanes on your own? Shouldn’t you be able to stay in your lane on your own? A lot of it seems like a waste of money to me.

those with older cars forgot... cruise control.
i do have heated seats... no, it doesn't help me drive per se, but it keeps my bad hip happy which makes it easier to drive... so i'll count it as a driving feature.

I don't have lane assist but the blind spot warning is the best feature I have ever had on a car. It really is very helpful and makes me feel safer for sure.
