What foods are not allowed?
I keep reading posts and hearing everyone say their doc said no to this food and no to that food! My doc hasn't said a word! Now I'm worried I'm eating things I shouldn't be! The only thing I cut from my diet was coffee and soda!
What does everyone think? And what were you told not to eat?

You should ask your doctor, some are more conservative than others.
In terms of food, my doctor said No shark, swordfish, king mackeral or tilefish No raw fish Nothing that's not pasturized
I also cut out caffine and any of those fake sugars (Nutrasweet, whatever) but I didn't consumer a lot of that stuff anyway.

Re: What foods are not allowed?
Like Cathy said, all doctors are different but here is my list:
No unpasturized products - soft cheese are fine as long as they are made from pasturized products.
Cold cuts - only after being sterlized which you do by placing in the microwave for about 60seconds for each pound.
NO SACHARRIN - meaning no Sweet & Low. Other sweeteners are fine
No shark, swordfish, king mackeral or tilefish.
No raw meat or fish. Any ground beef, like burgers can't have any pink in it.
Only 12 oz of other seafood per week.

Not that I eat any of these things anyway but I would steer clear of fake sweeteners, smoked foods, MSG, unpastuerized or undercooked foods, excees caffeine.

Re: What foods are not allowed?
it seems like each dr feels alittle differently regarding this topic. my dr told me no soft cheeses like brie and feta - little or no cold cuts - cut back on caffeine - no fake sweeteners - - tuna and other seafood only once a week.

Re: What foods are not allowed?
Actually you can have splenda since it is derived from sugar. But no aspartame(sweet and low, equal, etc)
